Warmest welcome! My name is Mia Sarno, and I also go by Dr. Mimi. I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist working in Los Angeles and San Diego. I am queer, pansexual, and gender fluid and use she/they pronouns. Live music, dance, cooking, art, and self-expression through fashion are things that bring me joy.

Healing can feel impossible when life keeps throwing us challenges and harmful systems around us don’t change. It’s easy to feel stuck and lose hope, motivation and inspiration. Healing is possible under the right conditions, including being with someone who truly cares, listens, and sees you. As a therapist, I am warm, compassionate and authentic. I appreciate the multiple layers of existence we all experience, including our minds, physical bodies, energy bodies, cultural contexts, and systemic contexts. I honor your unique identity and potential to achieve personal fulfillment, however that looks for you.

I specialize in psychedelic therapy & research; however, I also offer traditional therapy services. I work most often with clients navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, chronic illness, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. As a queer person myself, I happily provide services to others with queer and gender expansive identities.

Freedom involves finding, honoring, and integrating all parts of our story. It can be scary to look inside and start this journey, but I wholeheartedly trust in your abilities.
